You Will Need:

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Black 02, Prussian Blue 19, White 27, Pastel Colour Kit, Fine Art Canvas Sheet 12” X 20”, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, Wooden Stick/ Ruler, Pencil, Scissors, Wool for Tassels, Needle & Thread, Colour Palette, Water Container.

A tapestry woven with intricate patterns of flowers and birds, showcasing a vibrant array of colors and textures. The flowers bloom in a riot of reds, pinks, and purples, while graceful birds flit through the tapestry's lush landscape.The tapestry is a celebration of nature's beauty.

STEP 1 : Procure and cut the base
  • We are going to paint the tapestry with layering art technique on canvas sheet.
  • Pick the fine art canvas sheet measuring 12” x 20” in size.
STEP 2 : Paint the base coat
  • Paint the base coat of Pastel Acrylic Aqua Colour on it.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Draw and paint the simple design
  • Draw and paint the flora and fauna design on the painted sheet using Fevicryl Pastel Acrylic Colours and outline with Black 02 and Prussian Blue 19.
  • Let it dry completely.
STEP 4 : Paint the layering effect
  • On the top side of the base painting, we are going to paint the 2nd layer of the Flora and fauna design.
  • To make this effect first draw the simple shapes of the bird, flowers and leaves with White pencil to define the lines.
  • Paint the negative space using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour White 27.
  • Let it dry.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 5 : Finishing touches
  • Fold the 2 opposite sides on 1 and secure it with Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry.
  • Take the canvas sheet to make the loops on the top side of the painting further to attach the wooden ruler/stick.
  • Similarly make the tassels with the peach colour wool and attach it towards the bottom edge of the painting with needle and the thread.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 6 : Final look
  • Attach the wooden ruler/stick through the loops.
  • Your tapestry with the layering art technique is ready.
  • You can paint a similar technique on the fabric too.
