Mysore Style Ganesha On Canvas
You Will Need:
Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Golden Yellow 09, Orange 17, White 27, Fevicol MR, 12” x 12” Fine Art Canvas Board, Fine Art Brushes, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, A3 White Paper, Yellow Carbon Paper, Pencil, Gold Foil, Gypsum, Plastic Bowl, Soft Plastic Sheet, Masking Tape, Scissors, Wooden Embroidery Ring, Assorted Ornamental Stones (Golden & Yellow) Colour Palette, Water Container

From Mysore with love – infuse tradition in your canvas paintings with this Mysore inspired Ganesha!
Create this painting using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours.
STEP 1 : Source the base material
- Take a 12”x12” Fine Art Canvas Board.
- We are going to paint the canvas with Lord Ganesha, inspired by Mysore style painting with its typical nuances.
STEP 2 : Draw and trace the design.
- Take an A3 white paper.
- Draw Ganesha in a 6” diameter circle with a spiral design around it in the size of the canvas.
- Trace the same design on the canvas with yellow carbon paper.
STEP 3 : Make the Cone
- We are going to make a spiral design with cone work technique.
- Take a plastic bowl, add gypsum and Fevicol MR along with 2 to 3 drops of water to make a smooth consistency mixture.
- Make the cone out of the soft plastic and fill it up with this mixture.
- Paint the spiral design with cone work.
- Let it dry completely.
STEP 4 : Paint the design
- Paint the Ganesha, it’s border around the circle and the border towards the edges of the canvas with Acrylic Colours - Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Golden Yellow 09, Orange 17 and White 27.
- Let it dry completely.
STEP 5 : Take an embroidery ring
- Take an embroidery ring, using the inner part of the ring. Paint the ring with Acrylic Colours Orange 17 and Black 02.
- Let it dry completely.
STEP 6 : Stick the ring
- Stick the ring around the circular border of the painted Ganesha using Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry.
STEP 7 : Finishing
- We are going to stick gold foil on the spiral design.
- Take Fabric Glue, add 2 drops of water to it, apply a coat of diluted Fabric Glue on the spiral design and stick the foil on it.
- Let it dry completely.
- Enhance by sticking golden & yellow ornamental stones using Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
- Your Ganesha in Mysore style will look like this.
