Transform a plain metal box into a vibrant art piece by painting designs inspired by old matchbox covers. This advanced DIY project combines nostalgia with creativity, perfect for unique home decor or gifting.
STEP 1 : Source the base material
- Take a metal box to paint old matchbox cover designs on it.
STEP 2 : Draw and trace the design.
- On an A4 sized white paper, draw a collage of designs from old matchbox covers that match the size of the metal box.
- Paint the metal box with Acrylic Colour White 27 and let it dry.
- Trace the matchbox designs aesthetically onto the box using yellow carbon paper.
STEP 3 : Paint the design
- Paint the matchbox cover designs using Acrylic Colours: Black 02, White 27, Neon Yellow 011, Green 012, Orange 017, and Pink 018.
- Leave it to dry.
STEP 4 : Final look
- Paint the background of the matchbox covers with Acrylic Colour Black 02.
- Leave it to dry completely.
