Description :

Create a unique and vibrant Rakhi featuring intricate and traditional Gond art, perfect for adding a personal touch to your Raksha Bandhan celebrations.

STEP 1 : Prepare the MDF Base
  • Take 2” x 2” MDF squares to make the Rakhi's for Raksha Bandhan.
  • Clean the MDF base to remove any dust.
  • Pierce holes on opposite sides to attach the thread.
STEP 2 : Paint the Base Coat and Draw the Gond Art Design
  • Apply a base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27 on MDF squares and allow it to dry completely.
  • Paint the Pastel Acrylic Colours Pink and Aqua on the base and let it dry.
  • Lightly sketch a Gond art design on the painted MDF base with a pencil. Gond art often features intricate motifs of flora and fauna.
STEP 3
  • Using Fine Art Brushes, fill in your sketched design with vibrant Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Light Green 12, Prussian Blue 19, White 27, Pastel Acrylic Colours, and Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
  • Begin with larger areas, then move to finer details. Allow each section to dry before proceeding to avoid smudging.
STEP 4 : Attach Woolen Thread and Golden Beads
  • Cut a piece of woolen thread to the desired length for tying the Rakhi.
  • String golden beads onto the woolen thread as desired and secure it with a knot.
  • Attach the woolen thread with the beads to the MDF base.
STEP 5 : Final Look
  • Check that all elements are securely attached and that the design is complete.
  • Optionally, you can add additional embellishments like small sequins or mirrors to the front of the Rakhi for extra sparkle.
  • Your Rakhi for Raksha Bandhan is ready.
