Boxes with Tapa design in simplicity is how we have made this project. A utility Box Using Acrylic Colours painted with patterns in earthy tones inspired from the Bark cloth, or tapa from African Region. We have mase a simple and geometrical pattern on it from nature.

STEP 1 : Source the base material
  • Take any plain wooden boxes.
  • We are going to paint boxes with a design, with minimalist pattern style on them.
  • We have taken two different sizes of boxes.
  • Take A3 white paper. Draw a geometrical pattern on it, in the size of the lid and the walls of the boxes.
  • Make two different patterns for the boxes.
STEP 2 : Paint the base coat
  •  Paint the boxes with a base coat of Acrylic Colour - Black 02.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Trace the design
  • Trace the designs with white carbon paper on the box.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 4 : Paint the design
  • Start painting the design with Acrylic Colours - Crimson 04, Dark Brown 05 and White 27 by leaving the base colour black in some areas as shown in the picture.
  • Leave it to dry completely.
  • Your boxes with the design will look like this.
